How to Make the Best of Your Town

SCOPE to Hold Workshop on Community Involvement in the Planning Process

Have you ever felt that you have no say in how your community is developed? Do terms like "EIR, CEQA, and NEPA" sound to you like strange animals one might find at the zoo? Have you ever wanted to really tell your elected officials what you think about a project in your neighborhood, but somehow you didn’t know about it until you saw the bulldozers? Then this workshop is for you!

Saturday, April 18th
9 AM to 4 PM

SCV Historical Society's "Heritage Junction"

Hart Park, Newhall

Speakers will include Bruce Henderson from the US Army Corps of Engineers, Keith Pritsker, an environmental attorney with the City of Los Angeles and Darla Hoback, the current chair of Santa Clarita’s Planning Commission.

The workshop will take place at the SCV Historical Society’s "Heritage Junction" in Hart Park.

There are a lot of ways you and your neighbors can make sure you get the kind of quality, environmentally friendly development we all want for our communities. Come to our workshop for an introduction to the California Environmental Quality Act and other tools for community involvement.
